Description Bifidobacterium animalis is a branched, rod-shaped (diplobicillus) obligate anaerobic Gram-positive bacteria. This bacteria is generally found in the large intestines of mammals such as cats, cows, and humans. Bifidobacterium animalis is now comprised of two subspecies Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis and Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. animalis. It was found a beneficial probiotic for human.
