General Information of HIF (ID: HIFM0069)
HIF Name
C-X-C motif chemokine 2
HIF Synonym(s)
C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 2, CXCL2, GRO2, GROb, MIP2, MIP2A, SCYB2, MGSA-b, MIP-2a, CINC-2a
HIF Classification
Cytokine (Cyt)
Molecular Function
Cytokine
Description Stroma-derived factor 1 (SDF-1) (also known as CXCL2) is a cell-signaling cytokine and a chemoattractant. It is the only known ligand for CXCR4 and CXCR7. Using conditional mice, Chen and colleagues 102 induced SDF-1 disruption on PN7. At PN14, there were enlarged alveolar spaces. [1]

Microbe Species (MIC) Regulated by This HIF
         Cyanobacteria (cyanobacteria) MIC00475
Description At the phylum level, Cyanobacteria is associated with CXCL-2 expression. [2]
         Escherichia coli (enterobacteria) MIC00516
Description The expression of CXCL2 was found to positively correlate with the pro-inflammatory bacterium Escherichia coli. [3]
         Eubacterium rectale (firmicutes) MIC00578
Description The expression of CXCL2 was found to negatively correlate with the presence anti-inflammatory bacteria Eubacterium rectale. [3]
         Prevotella bivia (CFB bacteria) MIC01007
Description Prevotella bivia could induce higher levels exspression of CXCL2. [4]
         Shigella boydii (enterobacteria) MIC01180
Description The expression of CXCL2 was found to positively correlate with the pro-inflammatory bacteria Shigella. [3]
