Description | Yersinia enterocolitica is a facultative anaerobic, Gram-negative, rod-shaped bacterium. It belongs to the Enterobacteriaceae family. Yersinia enterocolitica triggers intestinal and extraintestinal yersiniosis, involving a broad spectrum of symptoms, e.g. enteritis or lymphadenitis. It causes a broad range of gastrointestinal syndromes ranging from acute enteritis and enterocolitis to mesenteric lymphadenitis. | ||||
